Second SABINA national workshop for SMEs took place in Barcelona, Spain on 26th March 2018. The event was a good occasion for the dissemination of ideas around energy flexibility in buildings. Local engineers, designers, architects and other citizens interested were engaged in the discussion on how energy flexible buildings can constitute a key asset in the future energy system and could help tackle the challenges raised by an increasing penetration of renewables in the grids. The event was hosted by IREC and co-organised by the European DIGITAL SME Alliance. Promotion at local/regional level was also ensured by CONETIC, the Spanish member of DSME.

Third national workshop for SMEs took place in Cluj, Romania on 25th May 2018 in the framework of the Cluj Innovation Days. The Cluj Innovation Days (CID) is an annual event organised by DIGITAL SME’s Romanian member, Cluj IT Cluster. It aims at consolidating the IT sector and creating new innovation-based bridges among businesses, academia and the public sector. CID 2018 was the 6th edition of the conference and addressed the topic of digital revolution and the fourth wave of smart growth. The SABINA consortium was content partner of the event.
SABINA workshop mainly focussed on thermal mass exploitation in buildings as well as on ideas around energy flexibility in buildings. SABINA introduced the audience to the most recent actions carried out in the framework of the project, thanks to which a wide community will be able to benefit from a new methodology to obtain calibrated simulation models that will match the real thermal behaviour of buildings.
