Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park (LTCP) was founded in place of the old French Mining Company of Lavrion in 1992 and it covers a total area of approximately 250,000 m2. It is essentially the only Technology Park in Attica and specializes in key areas of modern applied technology, such as information technology, electronics technology, telecommunications, robotics, laser technology, environmental technology and energy management. Inside the park there are 48 fully renovated buildings which hosts mainly Research and Development (R&D) activities.
For the purposes of SABINA project a variety of different buildings with a wide range of building materials (i.e. stone, concrete, glass-glazing), HVAC systems and Building Management Systems (BMS) are available. For example, the H2Susbuild (525 m2), a nearly zero CO2 emissions building which based on an intelligent algorithm harvests energy from RES and stores it in the form of high pressured hydrogen or the administration building which has recently been equipped with an advanced Building Management System that monitors, stores and controls all building’s electrical loads.
